Impact Windows & Doors in Southwest Florida

Southwest Florida sits in what the Florida Building Code calls a Wind-Borne Debris Region. That means homes in Collier and Lee Counties must meet some of the toughest wind-load requirements in the country -- design wind speeds of 150 to 160 mph depending on your exact location.

AmeriGlass Industries has been installing hurricane impact windows and doors across Naples, Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, and surrounding communities since 2019. We hold Florida Certified Specialty Contractor license SCC131152123, and every product we install carries a Florida Product Approval number or Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance.

Whether you are building a new home, replacing aging single-pane glass, or upgrading after storm damage, our team handles measurement, permitting, installation, and final inspection.

Why ImpactWindows Matter in SWFL

Why Southwest Florida Homeowners Choose Impact Windows

Standard glass shatters on impact and lets wind and rain tear through your home in seconds. Impact windows use laminated glass -- two panes bonded to a tough interlayer -- that holds together even when cracked. The glass may break, but it stays in the frame, keeping your building envelope sealed.

That matters here more than most places. Collier County (Naples, Marco Island) and Lee County (Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Bonita Springs, Estero, Sanibel) fall inside the WindBorne Debris Region under Florida Building Code Section 1626. Any opening in the building envelope -- windows, doors, skylights -- must be protected against windborne debris or use impact-rated products.

If you are replacing fewer than 25 percent of your windows, the existing non-impact windows can stay. But every new window must meet the current code. For full replacements or new construction, every opening needs impact-rated protection.

Impact Windows & Doors

Key Benefits

Impact Window Styles for Every Home

Not every window opening is the same size or shape, and not every homeowner wants the same look. We install impact-rated windows in aluminum and vinyl frames, in every standard configuration:

Aluminum Frame Options:

Vinyl Frame Options:

Glass Upgrades Available:

Every window we install carries a Florida Product Approval (FL) number or a Miami-Dade County Notice of Acceptance (NOA). We will show you the approval documentation for your specific product before installation begins.

Hurricane Impact Doors for Every Entry Point

Your doors face the same wind-load requirements as your windows. A standard entry door or sliding glass door can fail under hurricane pressure, letting wind and debris into your home. We install impact-rated doors including:

Entry Doors

front, side, and back doors with impact-rated glass inserts or full glass panels

Sliding Glass Doors

popular for lanais and pool areas; heavy-duty tracks and multi-point locking

French Doors

double doors with impact glass; available in aluminum and vinyl frames

Storefront / Commercial Doors

for businesses, condos, and mixed-use buildings in Collier and Lee County

All doors meet Florida Building Code requirements for wind-borne debris regions and include impact-rated hardware and locking systems.

How We Handle Your Impact Window Installation

1
Free In-Home Measurement

We measure every opening, check the wall construction, and discuss your preferences for frame material, glass type, and style.

2

Product Selection and Quote

You get a written quote with specific product names, FL approval numbers, and installation details. No pressure, no hidden fees.

3

Permitting

We pull the building permit with your local municipality (Naples, Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, or unincorporated Collier/Lee County). The permit ensures your installation will be inspected for code compliance.

4
Professional Installation

Our crews remove old windows, prep the openings, install new impact windows with proper flashing and sealant, and clean up the job site.

5

Final Inspection

The local building department inspects the installation. We do not close out a job until it passes inspection.

6

Warranty Registration

We register your manufacturer warranty and provide you with all documentation, including FL approval numbers for your insurance company.

Impact Window Questions Southwest Florida Homeowners Ask

Do I need impact windows if my home already has hurricane shutters?

Shutters meet code, but they require manual installation before every storm. Impact windows are always in place -- no scrambling when a hurricane watch is issued. Many homeowners switch to impact windows for convenience and the added benefits of noise reduction, UV protection, and insurance savings.

Most Florida carriers offer a wind mitigation discount when all openings are protected with impact-rated products. The exact discount depends on your carrier and policy, but savings of 15 to 45 percent on the wind portion of your premium are common. A wind mitigation inspection documents your protection level.

For a typical single-family home with 15 to 20 openings, installation takes 2 to 4 days once the products are on site. Manufacturing lead times vary by product line and time of year -- we will give you a timeline at the quoting stage.

Both certify that a product has passed impact and wind-pressure testing. The Miami-Dade NOA is specific to Miami-Dade County testing standards, which are among the strictest in the country. A product with a Miami-Dade NOA meets or exceeds Florida Building Code requirements anywhere in the state.

Yes. We pull the permit, coordinate the inspection, and make sure the installation passes before we close out the job.
